Tinted windows

This is what happened: I was pumping gas when a man emerged from the car in front of me and demanded a date. I said no. He shot rapid fire questions-- what do you do what is your name are you a model do you live around here I get in the car and shut the door firmly, fire up ignition, hands at 10 and 2, ready for the getaway, then realize that a car is behind me and I'm stuck.

So there we are, him staring through the window, me staring staring straight ahead, a little strip of glass between us. Its invasive. I think this is how fish feel when you get too close to the aquarium. Time passes, and then more time passes, and then eventually he mutters "ok" and walks off.

I could do an amazing commercial for tinted windows right now.

My name is Nasreen Yazdani.   I used to write micro essays, one-liners, and other small, lighthearted things. Most of them were funny.

Now I'm working on a book of stories.  The emotional range is... wilder.
