I wasn't planning on seeing my reflection in the glass freezers at the grocery store as I wheeled past the frozen desserts. But since I did, I have to come to terms with the fact that I cruise down the aisle reaaaal slow, like a total creep, leering at the ice cream bars one by one, MAKING KISSY FACES, and occasionally catcalling under my breath like a dazed construction worker: Chocolate chunk. I'd tap that.
"I just want to thank my loving family, the friends who stood by me throughout my early adulthood, and all the grocery store cashiers who have been part of my journey year after year. I'll never forget this magical moment. I PROMISED MYSELF I WOULDN'T GET EMOTIONAL."
"Ok ma'am. Here's your Costco membership." While I appreciate all the effort it took to grind rice into flour and press it into an incredibly awkward, very much swimming upstream "bread loaf" so that gluten-free sandwiches can be a thing, this slice crumbles when you look at it, and I'm currently eating it with a fork. So I guess we could have just left it as rice, you know?
